<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Escuela Adelante provides high quality, alternative education in Spanish and English to meet the diverse needs of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. We strive to cultivate generations of bilingual critical thinkers who are highly knowledgeable, technologically adept, individually inspired, kind and respectful towards others and towards the physical environment. We promise a safe environment where each child can gain the skills for his or her unique path, whether that path leads to university, entrepreneurship, or other success. 1.Expansion to Include Sixth Grade: As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance and expand our facilities, we added a new classroom to our campus. This expansion has enabled us to include sixth-grade instruction, thus extending our operations to provide education to more students. From serving 136 students in 2022, our student body grew to 165 in 2023, reflecting a 21.32% increase. This growth reflects our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our expanding school community and ensuring that every student has access to quality education. 2.Enhanced Bilingual Proficiency: We welcomed a new Academic Director who spearheaded the development of a revamped elementary curriculum. Under their guidance, we introduced a bilingualism framework alternating between English and Spanish on a weekly basis. Building upon this foundation, we gradually transitioned to a daily bilingualism approach, restructuring our class schedules to allocate specific morning and afternoon slots dedicated to bilingual instruction. This strategic transition is designed to immerse students in language learning, nurturing fluency in both English and Spanish. 3.Revitalizing the Growing Adelante Program: We welcomed a new program director for our Growing Adelante Program, setting the stage for dynamic growth. Our focus shifted towards strategic planning, and logistical groundwork, laying the foundation for the program's expansion. Additionally, we began charting a course for the seamless integration of the Growing Adelante Program into our educational curriculum, envisioning the use of products grown on-site in our very own kitchen to prepare nutritious meals for our students and staff. By the end of the year, our efforts bore fruit with full program implementation, featuring a meticulously crafted curriculum and engaging weekly gardening classes. 4.Enriched Sports and Arts Programming for Primary Students: This year saw significant progress in our primary students' sports and arts programming. In addition to forming dedicated sports teams like a male soccer team and a female volleyball team, we launched a chess club, open to both boys and girls. Furthermore, we welcomed an art teacher to engage all primary school grades in creative activities, including crafts. These initiatives aim to promote physical health, teamwork, and artistic expression while fostering essential life skills like discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship among our students, ensuring they thrive both inside and outside the classroom.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<ExplanationTxt>The school operates in Nicaragua where the population is not racially diverse. EA exists to serve the full community of San Juan del Sur, including both Nicaraguans and foreigners. The commitment to accessibility to all students, regardless of background or economic status, is well established. As race isn't tracked in Nicaragua like it is in the United States, it would be difficult to obtain this information from the school. However, the school does track the Nicaraguan to foreign student ratio to ensure the student body tracks to the population on a general level. The organization's policies regarding accessibility, diversity, and academic excellence are outlined on their website and in the Parent Handbook, available in both English and Spanish.</ExplanationTxt>
