The library has no part in selcting or approving the board members. We are a fully volunteer organization that raises money for library programs. Each year, the library does provide us with a "wish list of programs that they would like support for, and we decide which to support and to what extent we wish to support them (Library support budget). We also support programs of informational interest (such as author presentations) and occasionally will suggest programs to be held. Membership provides a quaryterly newsletter. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b Committees are organized to organize volunteer efforts, such as preparing for the annual book sale or delivering "books to your door" for shiut ins. Committees may not make decisions on behalf of the board. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Darfts of the 990 are provided to the finance committee for approval. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Financial statements, Form 990 and other documents are stored in the Library office and access to any and all documents is offered on request. The Friends of the Simsbury Library does not have it's own website but notices related to the Friends, such as availability of documents are posted on the Friend's section of the Library website. Form 990, Part IX, Line 24e Expenses include retirement and achievement awards, lunch expense for full board meetings (10 a year with attendance of approximayely 10 - 15)
