Attended by hundreds of local residents, this event is one the biggest local shopping days of the year. 2079 Membership and Development includes member recruitment, business education, strategic planning, governance, and stewardship to foster collaboration and know-how among local businesses and strengthen the local circular economy. Business Alliance Social Hours and Lunch & Learn trainings offer members the opportunity to learn from experts and one another on topics ranging from promoting workforce mental health to sustaining small business ownership. Local First launched Durango First Fridays, in partnership with the Durango Creative District and the Art Room Collective, to advance the local creative economy by enlisting local businesses as venues for local artists and artisans to showcase their work to a wider public audience.
