In these counties, KNS worked to ensure that well-balanced, nutritious meals were served to the children enrolled in participating licensed child care homes. Through nutrition education (workshops, monthly newsletters, and self-study units) and program monitoring visits/desk reviews, KNS was able to provide financial reimbursement to the providers for the meals they served that met the CACFP guidelines. Employees and board members are required to sign a no-conflict statement annually. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The public disclosure of KidCare Nutrition Sponsor's documents is made available upon request, with inspection of documents taking place at KidCare's office (929 38th Ave Ct #106, Greeley, Colorado). There were no requests for this tax year. Form 990, Part XI, Line 9 Miscellaneous Program Service Expenses The State of Colorado had been operating with four sponsorships of the United States Dept. of Agriculture's (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). KidCare was notified at the beginning of the year that the largest sponsorship would be closing their doors and that 320 licensed child care homes would need to be absorbed into the remaining three sponsorships. The number of counties that KidCare serviced had to be expanded and each child care home had to be visited in-person to sign-on with our sponsorship. KidCare had already been operating short staffed and this task posed a major time commitment in order to stay in compliance with the regulations set forth by the USDA. KidCare is asking the Dept. of Treasury for forgiveness in the filing of this late Form 990. KidCare's filing history will show that this is a one-time circumstance for our non-profit organization.
