The report drew national attention, prompting a second report to be released in 2024, which examined the death of 21 children over the past two years. Safe Passage was a source of information for several media reports, including a major investigative reporting series titled "In Harm's Way," which exposed major flaws in the state's child protection system. Safe Passage supported the legislative agendas for closely related nonprofits to improve resources to children and families.
