We are a shared public space that promotes dignity and inclusion and builds trust through love, grace, hope, and a fresh brewed cup of coffee. We directly support people experiencing housing, food, and healthcare insecurity through our State Identification, Coffee on Suspend, Community Care Card, and Food Is Free-Myrtle Beach programs. Additionally, our venue offers a space for music and art, recovery and advocacy meetings, church and youth groups, clubs, networking groups, educational training, hiring events, and all other life occasions. Coffee on Suspend Program. We participate in a suspended coffee program. When coming in to purchase coffee at our location, instead of buying just your cup of coffee, you may purchase two or more as a way to pay it forward. The barista logs in the additional coffee as suspended, and it can be redeemed by anyone who needs it. It can be for someone who is experiencing homelessness, a struggling student, a parent struggling to put food on the table and needs a cup, someone who forgot their wallet, a business-person who is in their 2nd month of searching for a job--anyone who needs it. In our house, if you do not have the money for a cup of coffee, you may receive one cup, whether we have suspended coffee on the books or not. We strive to share and promote kindness in our community. 1637 1637 Community Care Card Program. For people experiencing housing and food insecurity who volunteer time at our coffee house, such as cleaning and organizing, we monetize their time with a gift card for a local restaurant. 1000 1000 Identification Program. We help people obtain their state-issued identification. If the person has previously had a South Carolina (SC) identification, we partner with another organization to obtain a SC Department of Motor Vehicle voucher that waives the cost. If the person has never had a SC identification, they need a certified original birth certificate and identification record from the state they are coming from in order to obtain a SC identification. We order and pay for the costs associated with obtaining those documents. 285 1894 Food Is Free-MB Program. We have a no-barrier, FREE food pantry. Every Friday we pick up and distribute food from a local food bank that would otherwise be thrown away because they are closed on weekends. Additionally, we take weekly delivery of day-old food from two local grocery stores, another organization, and customer-purchased/donated food from a local 7-Eleven.
