Industry, USDA/University researchers plus the National Peanut Board presented presented the program information. Over 100 growers, educators, crop consultants and peanut industry staff attended. The Association exhibited at the Mississippi Nurses Convention promoting introduction of peanuts to infants to reduce the chance of developing an allergy and the benefits of peanuts in diabetic diets along with heart-healthy snack. The 400 registered nurses and 800 nursing students attending the 3 day convention were given educational literature and interacted with peanut staff working the exhibit booth. A new event was exhibiting at the MS Farmers Market on Peanut Day and continuing to exhibit at the MS State Fair for 10 days. Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 16 This funding is for support of the Southern Peanut Growers conference held annually in July. The MS Association is one of the 4 states that sponsor and plan this conference working with Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Usually 500 -600 attend the conference to get the latest educational information, legislative updates, industry technology and share with other growers.
