In 2023 a total 1,105 of cats and dogs were transported to be spay neutered vaccinated and micro chipped at the low cost of approximately $55 cat and $85 dogs. 70262 0 13803 Rescue and Rehabilitation Program: The primary purpose of A HOPE's rescue program is to take in cats and kittens with medical problems provide them with care often lifesaving and place them in our volunteer foster homes for convalescence and social development to ultimately be adopted into permanent homes. In 2023 A HOPE pulled 363 animals from local shelters other rescue operations and the public. 281were cats and kittens of which 247 were adopted and 51returned to their owners. 6619 0 0 Community Outreach Program: A HOPE's community outreach is achieved primarily through two initiatives that assist low income families by providing food and other basic supplies for their pets at no charge. In 2023 the Pet Food Pantry program provided 60 households with 1,559 pounds of dry food and 420 cans of wet food to help feed 81 dogs and 428 pounds of dry food and 1,102 cans of wet food for 132 cats. This assistance provided the means for these families to keep their pets at home instead of placing them in shelters because of the lack of financial resources to adequately care for them. As noted at Section III line 3 this program was conditionally put on hold in May of this year. The Bowl Fillers program provides food treats and litter to live-in senior owners unable obtain food for their pets on their own. Each month A HOPE volunteers recruit a different sponsoring organization from the area to donate the items for this program. Part III Line 0 Column (b) The number of recipients is determined by actual count. For the Pet Food Pantry program, recipients line up in cars at the A HOPE facility to receive the items in drive though fashion. For the Bowl Fillers program, A HOPE volunteers deliver items directly to recipients at their homes. Part III, line 3 In June of this year A HOPE put its Pet Food Pantry program on hold. There were 2 primary reasons for this decision. Two other local organizations began their own pantry operations this year - our local shelter and an organization JoJo's Paws that specifically provides this service. The hold on our program avoids the duplication of services and directs the need to organizations more focused on food donation while at the same time allows A HOPE to focus its efforts on the increasingly demanding requirements of its affordable access and rescue programs as well as the increased fundraising efforts for construction of a new clinic that began this year. Part VI, Section B, Line 1 Th board of directors has delegated authority to an executive committee consisting of the President Vice President and Treasurer for decisions related to the setting of annual goals budgets personnel matters compensation of employees currently only the president who is recused and other matters that are brought to its attention. New volunteers are required to read and sign their agreement to the policy; existing volunteers and employee are required to read and re-sign their agreement to the policy if there have been any changes to the policy. The President's salary is reviewed and approved annually by the Executive Committee with the President recused. Changes in compensation are based on both the financial condition of the organization and merit. Part VI, Line 19 Links to the current Form 990 and state compliance certificates are provided on the organization's web page along with a link to the Treasurer's email address for the purpose of requesting any other governing documents and operating results. In addition copies of Form 990 and the conflict of interest policy are provided in grant applications when requested.
