TED works on behalf of special education teacher educators. Rosa DeLauro, , Sen. Sanders, Sen. Padilla, Sen. Warnock, Sen. Murray, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Scott, Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Casey, Sen. Booker, Sen. Schumer, Rep. Lujan, Rep. Adams, Sen. Schatz, Sen. Baldwin, Sen. Rubio and Rep. Frankel to urge increased funding in the FY 2024/5 Appropriations bill for IDEA Personnel Preparation and funds for the educator pipeline. Urged Sen. Casey to complete Dear Colleague letter for personnel preparation. Form 990, Part I, Line 1, Description of Organization Mission: The Teacher Education Division is a diverse community of professionals who lead and support teacher education on behalf of students with exceptional needs and their families. We accomplish this through research, professional and leadership development, and advocacy. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The Council has dues paying members. Membership shall consist of professional personnel and other persons interested in the education of individuals with exceptionalities. All members of this Division must hold concurrent membership in The Council for Exceptional Children. The Division may not accept enrollments for Division membership only. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The officers of the Division shall be elected by the membership from those members in good standing who are nominated by the Elections and Constitution Committee. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b Proposed amendments to the Constitution must be petitioned by twenty (20) active members and circulated by mail or technology to the active membership at least four months before they are subject to a vote at a General Business Meeting at the annual TED conference. All amendments must be submitted to the President. This Constitution may be amended by a voice vote and must pass by a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting. The Bylaws shall be amended by a majority vote of the Executive Committee. Prior to a vote, proposed amendments to the Bylaws shall be published at least two months in advance for review and comment by members.
