There are three primary areas of program service: Gospel in Turkey, Earthquake Relief, and Refugee Relief. College Ministry is an additional ad hoc program service. 1 0 123578 123578 0 GOSPEL IN TURKEY. Spreading the Christian gospel in Turkey includes general support for building rent and utilities. The primary church with whom MT28 Inc interacts now owns its own building, but it rents buildings in four cities/villages in the region for church plants. MT28 Inc helps provide the salaries for the growing staff of young pastors servicing these church plants, plus fuel and vehicle insurance to enable pastors to visit and guide these young churches as well as house churches in the outlying villages. MT28 Inc helps provide Bibles and other Christian materials including printed materials and video DVDs. Fifty to sixty visitors come by the church daily to avail themselves of these materials. Additionally, MT28 Inc helps support through equipment and direct and indirect costs of recording and online streaming of Sunday church services, including the sermons. Funds from MT28 Inc also purchase newspaper ads and support ministry to prisoners and staff at prisons within the region. 67500 67500 0 EARTHQUAKE RELIEF. MT28 Inc provides a broad range of relief including funds for food cards, medicines, baby supplies, mattresses, blankets, and heating stoves and coal. Given the extensive damage in and around Gaziantep, Turkey, this will continue to be a multi-year need. Because this help is being given without restrictions by a Turkish Christian organization, many have experienced genuine caring, and have accepted the Christian faith. 40050 40050 0 REFUGEE RELIEF. MT28 Inc provides a broad range of refugee relief in several areas of Turkey. Recipients still include displaced families and individuals from Iraq and Syria as a result of the ISIS aggression plus the influx of Afghans who fled the Taliban. Additionally, there are political and religious refugees from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, & Syria. They are asylum seekers registered with the United Nations for relocation to other countries, but while they wait, they have very few resources and minimal opportunities to support themselves or their families. MT28 Inc provides funds for food cards, medicines, baby supplies, mattresses, blankets, and heating stoves and coal to help them survive the cold winter months in most of Turkey. Additionally, MT28 Inc provides funds for back-to-school materials, uniforms, shoes, and winter coats for children of refugees. MT28 assisted over 1100 people in over 280 families. Through this effort, and with the gospel materials provided, many have experienced genuine caring, and have accepted the Christian faith. MT28 follows procedures laid out in its original Form 1023, Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, for selecting recipients. The grants are monitored by all of three methods: 1) The recipient organization provides monthly updates of its ministry activities, 2) A trusted U.S. citizen in the same city maintains frequent interaction with the recipient organization and is available to report to us, 3) The use of these funds is also closely monitored by two other large, U.S. non-profit organizations with vast worldwide operations. The recipient organization is recognized by the government of Turkey as a church. Relief includes food, shelter, medicine, clothing, blankets, et cetera. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2 Directors Gregory Riggs and Jan Riggs are married to each other. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The final draft of the Form 990 package, with the exception of Schedule B, was provided electronically to each director prior to the Spring 2024 board of directors meeting. The board was given the option to review Schedule B but decided to preserve the anonymity of the top donors. The remainder of the Form 990 package was reviewed in the meeting and approved by the directors. The final package was then submitted to the IRS. Directors provide an annual statement declaring they have read and understand the policy and will comply with it.
