Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 AMEN does not make its governing documents, policies, and financial statements available to the public. Financial statements are reviewed by the board twice annually and by the Executive Committee monthly. I am writing to explain the circumstances that led to the late filing of Form 990 for Adventist Medical Evangelism Network (AMEN) for the tax year ending December 31, 2022. We believe that the reasons outlined below constitute reasonable cause for the delay in submission. The primary factor contributing to the late filing was the unexpected departure of our previous Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and all other administrative staff members. This departure left our organization in a challenging position, as crucial financial records and documentation necessary for the completion of Form 990 were not immediately accessible. Despite our best efforts to swiftly address this situation, it took a considerable amount of time to reconstruct and compile the required financial information accurately. Furthermore, during this period of transition, our organization underwent a significant change in its operational base. We relocated our primary office from California to Tennessee. This relocation necessitated additional time and resources to ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements and to establish new administrative processes in our new location. As a result, our ability to finalize and submit Form 990 within the prescribed deadline was further impeded. I want to assure you that we have since taken proactive measures to rectify these challenges. Our books are now current, and we have implemented improved procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting going forward. We are committed to ensuring compliance with all tax obligations, including the timely filing of Form 990 for the tax year ending December 31, 2023. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the late submission of Form 990 for the tax year ending December 31, 2022. We trust that you will consider the extenuating circumstances outlined above as reasonable cause for the delay and grant us relief from any penalties associated with the late filing.
