Conservation: Reserva's conservation accomplishments included supporting the expansion of Dracula Youth Reserve and the Dracula Reserve corridor with grant funds raised by young people around the world. Collaborating with other nonprofit partners, we helped secure a 1,050-acre site of primary cloud forest in Ecuador. With several youth researchers and our local partners, we conducted a research expedition on this site to investigate damage from gold mining activity and collect a baseline assessment of the site's biodiversity, discovering several potentially new species to science. We conducted the youth-led development phase for our first marine project, and began research for our third land-based project site, marking our growth from one reserve site toward creating a network of youth-supported and youth-led projects around the world. Our "Youth and Community Empowerment to Save Ecuador's Orchids" project was completed. Grants were awarded in the amounts of $10,000 and $53,577 to Fundación EcoMinga, our Ecuadorian nonprofit partner, to be used toward land purchases. 63577 X 74540 Education: Reserva's education accomplishments included: Youth Council development and expansion to more than 100 members from 30+ countries; we continued receiving submissions to our 1 Million Letters campaign to empower global youth to save nature, readying for a delivery at COP16 in 2024. We delivered more than a dozen talks online and in person for schools, conventions, and organizations, including information on youth action for biodiversity conservation, creating a mission and vision, and our new youth-focused fundraising workshop. We brought a delegation of 8 young scientists to the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Plenary (IPBES-10) in Bonn, Germany, where these bright young leaders learned about the interface between international policy and biodiversity science. 0 25434 Storytelling: Reserva's storytelling accomplishments included: Celebrating the release of the acclaimed HHMI Tangled Bank Studios documentary, "Wild Hope: Does Nature Have Rights?" now found on PBS Nature, which amplified the story of Dracula Reserve and Dracula Youth Reserve to a global audience. We presented the film at the AAAS conference, Bioneers conference, and several local screenings.
