Goenka globally. VCF's efforts aim to make Vipassana meditation courses more widely available to more people worldwide. 0 0 1180983 1131818 4363 In 2023, between program and DAF funds, VCF disbursed 56 grants totaling over $1,000,000. Grants were made to these seven new countries: Armenia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Italy, Paraguay, Spain and Uruguay; as well as 15 prior country recipients (Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Peru, Sri Lanka, US and Venezuela).In 2023, VCF continued supporting center expansion worldwide with various grants to centers in North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Some highlights of our major programmatic grants internationally (listed in order of size of grants) include:- Grants to Verein fr Vipassana Meditation in Austria (VMA) to support the first development stage of the Dhamma Mudita Meditation Center. To support the construction of the first meditation center in Austria in this tradition, two grants were disbursed to VMA: $200,000 on October 11, 2023, and $204,140 on November 30th, 2023. These grants were awarded to support the construction of two accommodation buildings and the kitchen/dining building.- Grant to Rocky Mountain Vipassana Association (RMVA) to support the development of the Dhamma Sela meditation Center in Colorado. To support the construction of the potable water and non-potable water delivery system, specifically to extend the water lines, from the current stopping point to the edge of the campus of the first center in Colorado, a $200,000 grant was awarded to RMVA on October 18, 2023.- Grant to Fundacin Vipassana Regiones Colombia to expand the Dhamma Gutti Meditation Center. To help implement the center's 2020-2025 master plan, particularly: i) to build a block of 20 individual rooms with attached baths for students on the men's side and ii) to pay off some of the debt incurred by the purchase of the property and for construction previously done, a $90,000 grant was awarded on May 24, 2023.Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) continue to be an active option for larger donors who wish to provide more directed and/or anonymous giving in the United States.
