<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. Will be composed of approximately 40 religious institutions from different racial and socio-economic background. SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will serve the public by providing relationship building and leadership development for its members. SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. also serves the public by helping to make changes in the community which benefit members of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. and others who are not members. SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. is open to any religious institution or human services organization in Sedgwick County, Kansas, provided that the institution is not political in nature. SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will have an annual cycle for its activities. This cycle will begin with development. Members of the congregations will be trained to conduct house meetings in their congregations. A house meeting host will invite between 8 and 12 other individuals from their congregation to the meeting. At the house meetings, relationships will be built and information will be gathered on the most pressing community concerns. This process culminates in an assembly, where members vote on what community problems to focus on over the next year. After the assembly, research committees will be formed to do research on selected problems and try to uncover possible solutions. Once a research committee has uncovered possible solutions, a public meeting will be held to present the results of the research to community leaders. The research committees continue to work with community leaders for as long as needed. To end the annual cycle, for a few weeks, SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will focus on fundraising, our what we call our Investment Drive. Each congregation forms a team to solicit funds from the local community. The breakdown of organizational activities is as follows: 1. Building Relationships Across Religious, Racial, Economic, and Ethnic Barriers, 60 percent a. The main work of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. is building relationships. It is only through face to face relationship building that stereotypes and prejudices can be broken down. It is through this medium that we accomplish one of the main goals of the SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC: to alleviate barriers in our community. b. Once a year, all members of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC., will spend two months focused solely on relationship building, through the conducting of house meetings. c. Board members will play a particularly important role in initiating these meetings and seeing that they are successfully completed. Those conducting the meetings decide on the location. Most often they occur in people's homes or in local congregations. 2. Learning About Community Issues and Helping to Solve Community Problems, 20 percent a. Each year, members of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will select a few areas of community concern on which to do intensive research. b. SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. Members will focus on research for 3-4 months and as needed during the year. c. The activity will be conducted by members of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. throughout the community, with help from three fulltime staff people hired in 2023 3. Leadership Development, 15 percent Another major activity of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will be developing the leadership skills of the members. Members will be trained in how to build relationships with people who are different from them, establish networks, plan and run meetings, evaluate organizational activities, speak effectively in public, and research community problems. 4. Fundraising, 5 percent a. SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will raise funds in order to hire staff, maintain an office, conduct local training sessions, and send members to national training sessions Some funds will be raised through dues which member organizations pay. Other funds will be raised through grants and an annual support drive. During the Investment Drive members of SEDGWICK COUNTY MULTIFAITH JUSTICE ORGANIZATION INC. will be trained to ask for donations from local businesses and individuals. b. The board of directors will adopt a dues structure. Dues are paid throughout the year. Grants are applied for throughout the year. The investment drive will be initiated for six weeks during the summer. c. Staff and volunteers will preform the writing of grants. The investment drive is conducted by volunteer leaders of member organizations</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
