<Desc>Education for MOGAD patients/caregivers and medical professionals is one of the pillars of our strategic plan. Not only do we create these resources, but The MOG Project maintains a website providing patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals in the MOGAD community these educational materials vetted by expert medical professionals, access to research studies by medical institutions and The MOG Project itself, clinical trial information, support group information and registration, as well as community outreach information. In order to provide patients with the latest in the continually changing research in MOGAD, we use the website to provide quick access to podcasts from our YouTube channel and links to information from our collaborative partners. The website also supports an online store, providing awareness merchandise for purchase. In addition, the website provides blog space for patient stories, podcast summaries, news, announcements and events. With MOGAD being a rare neuroimmune condition, patients are unlikely to meet another patient in their area. This website is their portal to finding others with the disease for support and learning about the medical professionals who treat the disease aas well as gaining an education on the disorder. We are commited to these patients and plan on maintaining the website for years to come. We benefit over 5000 people who have found our website worldwide, mostly in the US. In 2023, we added a video-based FAQ page and more professional presentations to educate patients. We also did more work on accessibility and website SEO improvements using a professional web developer.</Desc>

<Desc>We were the major financial sponsor for the 2023 MOGAD Summit in Boston, MA for the Neuroimmunology Clinic and Research Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital. This was a medical education and research sharing meeting designed to bring together the MOGAD research community to share and learn about recent findings from each other. This involved, travel, venue, meals and other expenses related to the summit.</Desc>

<Desc>The MOG Project provides research grants to centers of excellence in MOGAD research that work on understanding of this rare neuroimmune disorder. The organization does this through the Research for Rare program which consists of two types of grant offerings: The Apollo grant and the Accelerator Grant. The Apollo Grant provides funding to develop hypotheses and gather seed/pilot data to support and strengthen the submission of a future same subject proposal allowing investigators to better secure greater funding from larger organizations. Our grants are intended to support the advancement of medical knowledge and understanding of this rare disease leading to better diagnosis, targeted treatments, and eventually a cure. The Accelerator Grant provides for architecture, infrastructure, and technology funding to be used in support of any future MOGAD research projects. These grants are awarded as part of a vigorous RFA process similar to that done in reputable institutions such as NIH.</Desc>

<Desc>We provide awareness gear, printed patient information (brochures and flyers) to MOGAD patients upon request and at all external venues visited. The website also offers MOGAD gear which helps bring our patient community together, raises funds for some of our administrative costs, and brings awareness to the disease. We offer a variety of MOG-related merchandise and ship to customers who order from our website. There is some cost in creative fees for the design of the merchandise as well as all that goes into selling the gear.</Desc>

<Desc>We currently have 3 zoom-based support groups often visited by expert medical professionals in MOGAD. Our support group leaders volunteer their time to help patients connect to the care they need bring MOGAD patients and caregivers together to share advice based on their personal experience with the disease. We do not offer medical advice during these sessions, but patients can learn how to self-advocate to receive the best care possible from their own medical team, including what questions to ask their doctor and about the latest news The MOG Project has to offer concerning research and new findings in the MOGAD Community of researchers. 300 people are regularly signed up for our yearly sessions. Our expert visitations by MOGAD clinicians are on a volunteer basis and occur quarterly throughout the year for all 4 support groups.</Desc>
