To date we have given 4840 bikes to children in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, in 2022 we gave out 1085 bicycles to those in need of a bicycle. We work with other organizations to determine who needs bikes, be it refugees, school children needing transportation, or parents requesting a bike for their child. Our vision is to collect unwanted bicycles, repair them to safe working condition and give them back to a child or someone in need. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Our staff is mainly retired professional people looking to give back to their community, volunteering their time. Our funds come from the community, either service organizations, local businesses or individuals. Simply put a bike given to a child provides a healthy outdoor activity and the freedom of bike ownership. In 2022 we gave out 1085 bikes, in 2023 that number grew to 1153, we continue to grow. So far in 2024 the number has already surpassed 500, we are on target to grow again. Those are numbers of bicycles that are given to individuals but the impact can be on the whole family. 52290 52290 Bob's Free Bikes mission is to provide a bike to any child in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area who would otherwise not be able to have one. Children should be able to experience the responsibility, excitement and freedom that comes with owning their own bike. Our vision is to collect donated and unwanted bicycles repair them and 'recycle' them back to a child. In 2023 gave away 1185 bikes to children in the greater Phoenix Metropolitan area. We also partner with Phoenix Children's Hospital to provide bicycles to children who may not have one when they do a 'Bike Rodeo' in communities around the Phoenix area. In 2023 we provided bikes to local school programs, refugee communities and to children in foster care. We also provided bikes to families of the Arizona National Guard, (65) in Phoenix. We also partnered with Luke Airforce Base to provide bikes for children of their servicemen. Those that would be impacted from the giving of our bikes exceeds the number of bikes given, as a bike given to a father to have transportation to a job would impact his whole family, or bike given for transportation to classes or school would also impact a family. Bikes given to our service members would impact their whole community, as kids outside would be able to ride together and form friendships. In 2023 we also started giving a new helmet and lock with each bike, as a part of our Gear UP for Safety program, which aims to enhance the wellbeing of underprivileged children by suppling them with essential safety gear for bicycling. We look to provide a high quality helmet and a lock with each bike given, fostering a safer environment, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Our wholly volunteer staff gains from the relationship to our community, to be able to give back.
