The student stipends are contingent upon the students' attendance and adherence to the organization's "Student Agreement". The stipends are intended to support the student's learning by helping them with transportation and childcare costs needed for them to attend classes. The program is advertised to the small network of highly specialized community-based organizations in DC that do community violence intervention work. Students are nominated by their employers.
