The eight parent-members serve a two-year rotating term while the General Principal serves a three-year term, unless re-appointed by the Board, or until he or she is terminated sooner from the position as General Principal. Member election for additional members Part VI line 7a The Board of Directors appoints General Principal who serves a three-year term, or until he or she is terminated. The General Principal is recruited from the general public with ads placed on the Schools Website and in local newspapers. The Board of Directors interviews candidates and only a qualified candidate with 2/3 of the votes is hired as General Principal. The General Principal makes up one member of the nine-member Board. Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11 Before form 990 is officially filed, a copy of the form with supporting schedules is sent to the Organizations Board of Directors for review. The Board is responsible for reviewing the information return and any question is addressed prior to signing of the return by the Chairman of the Board, or his or her appointee. Other or change in accounting method Part XII line 1 For the 2023-2024 school year, the School began enrolling Chinese Class students on a school year basis rather than the previous per semester basis. With this change, parents pay the full school years tuitions in advance and a refund is only allowed in limited circumstances. Thus the 2023 program revenue reported on this Form 990 includes amounts received for Spring 2024 semester.
