Preparations for One International Environmental Conference in 2024Research was done to find themes and trending topics for one conferencein 2024 which was to have presentations on protecting and preservingthe environment using conventional science and new paradigm science.Due to budget constraints, the International Environmental Conferenceis being paused until further notice.3. Publishing The Earth & I Magazine (E&I)The E&I magazine has continued to run bimonthly Issues, each with 16articles across 10 sections on environmental issues plus separatesections on news and data, which can be viewed at www.theearthandi.org.Plans are being made to increase viewership around the world andeventually generate revenue. During 2023, all articles were free toview.4. News World Media Development LLC (NWMD)NWMD is a subsidiary of HJIFEP and has been receiving royalty paymentsfrom educational companies using The World & I Magazine content.The trademark application for The World & I was discontinued since itis not actively promoted and available to the public.5. HJIFEP Website development:The archive of the HJIFEP/USA website was updated to includeproceedings materials from ICSG and ICUS.6. Environmental Outreach Activities:On January 22, 2023, Mr. Jones gave a presentation at the CapitalFamily Church, Washington, DC, about the environmental crisis. Therewere 200 people in attendance.7. On February 25-26, 2023, Mr. Jones gave a short presentation onenvironmental issues to the Youth Ministry at Belvedere Family inBelvedere, NY to 35 kids on Saturday. On Sunday after Sunday Service,the HJIFUS Outreach Director Gregg Jones gave a 35 min presentation tothe Belvedere Family Church similar to the presentation given on Jan22, 2023, followed by a tour of the greenhouse and proposal to start acommunity garden in that space. Seventy people were in attendance atthe service.8. On March 18, 2023, Mr. Jones presented for 12-minutes to 125 people atthe American Clergy Leadership Conference Prayer Summit in Washington,DC about the limitations of scientific materialism, potentialenvironmental solutions, and environmental service activity thatchurches could do as small groups.On March 19, 2023, after Sunday Service, an HJIFEP presentation onenvironmental solutions was given to 55 people.9. April 23 2023. HJIFUS Outreach joined Belvedere Family Community inwelcoming HJIFEP Executive Director, Dr Sun Jin Moon, to speakvirtually at Spring Fest. After the talk, nearly 40 people came out tothe garden to build boxes, plant seedlings, organize and prepare thenew garden/greenhouse space.10. On May 6, 2023, HJIFEP and MACC Garden Ministry hosted Spring ServiceDay at the MACC Garden. There were 48 participants. The program lastedfrom 10:00 am to 12:15pm. It started with an orientation where prayerswere tearfully read by Kathleen P., a MACC Garden member. The serviceactivities included preparing raised bed boxes, building a shed and acanopy structure for the greenhouse, planting 3 trees, and plantingover 70 seedlings of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and more. At lunch,there was a short education session where a 5-minute Youtube video wasplayed on "Introduction to Creation Care."11. On May 21, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Jones gave an HJIFEPpresentation to 65 people after Sunday Service. The presentationincluded awareness of the environmental crisis, new environmentalsolutions such as the need for a human transformation of consciousness,science and technology from conventional and frontier perspectives, andthe three pillars for creating harmony with nature. The community wasencouraged to launch a garden ministry on their church property. Mr.Jones met with Dr. Rattan Lal, a prominent soil scientist at The OhioState University.12. On November 4, 2023, HJIFEP, partnering with the Mid Atlantic CommunityGarden Ministry and the Capital Family Church, pioneered a neweducational event called Eco Fair 2023. The Eco Fair invitedenvironmental organizations and faith-based groups to set up tables tointroduce themselves and their activities to the local community. Theseorganizations included the University of Maryland Extension MasterGardener Program, Maryland Therapeutic Riding, GreenVest (a landscaperestoration business), and Crofton Village Garden Club.At the same time, service activities were conducted nearby at the MACCGarden educating Eco Fair visitors on how to build raised-bed gardenboxes and plant fall crops and trees.At lunchtime, there was an indoor program starting with singing fromthe Heavenly USA volunteers followed by talks from Mr. Elmer Dengler, aretired scientist from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, andDr. Michael Jenkins, Chairman of The Washington Times Holdings and aboard member of HJIFEP. The keynote speech was given by Dr. Sun JinMoon, Executive Director of HJIFUS and daughter of HJIFUS Founder, Rev.Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Afterwards, there was a dance performance by HJDancers from the Capital Family Church.Through her speech, Dr. Moon conveyed the HJIFUS Founder's heartfeltmessage about the Creator's love and concern for the creation and madean urgent call for peace and reconciliation between human beings andnature. A member of the MACC Garden Ministry, moved by her words, saidthat this message should be heard by thousands of people. The messageresonated especially with young people who were so inspired that theyvolunteered to help with more HJIFEP projects in the future.13. In addition to the the events above, Mr. Jones has been hosting monthlymeetings with the garden ministry of the MACC as its Garden MinistryDirector since the Birdhouse Building event in 2021 and has beenleading small group garden activities at the MACC garden every Sundaysince the Summer of 2022 when it is planting or harvesting season.14.
