Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Each employee is required to sign a form acknowledging that they have received and read the employee handbook, which includes personnel policies such as conflicts of interest. There is not a formal monitoring process for conflicts of interest. However, the small size of our staff makes it unlikely that the Executive Director would not be aware of any conflicts of interest. Annually, the Board of Directors and Executive Director review the policy and complete a form disclosing any potential conflicts. If a potential conflict is reported, the board will review it and determine if any action is needed. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15a The Executive Committee reviews the Executive Director's compensation annually in order to make a recommendation to the board for approval. The recommendation is based on performance and a review of industry and market compensation reports showing comparable peer compensation levels to ensure compensation is not excessive for a non-profit organization of PARS's size. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The Form 990 is made public and available through an independent website www.guidestar.com. The Executive Director maintains the access for the documents. Access is often given to funding partners in order to qualify for grants, donations, and other gifts to the organization. If needed, the Executive Director will seek legal counsel to determine when and how to make documents available to the public or requesting organizations.
