It includes $41,392 for the Lester A. Kirkland Outstanding Mentor Award Fund, designed to highlight individuals who are outstanding mentors. The fund is to be used for the purchase of a plaque, travel support for the recipient, and a year membership to the organization for the recipient. The balance also includes $175,546 in FSSS Endowment funds intended to support sexuality research and scholarship.$13,484 of the funds are to endow the Bonnie and Vern L. Bullough Award, given annually for the most distinguished book written for the professional sexological community published during the previous year. Another $24,391 are funds to endow the Theory Award, given annually to the author(s) of the best social science article, chapter, or book published in which theoretical explanation of human sexual attitude and behaviors are developed. $3,629 is JSR Author Awards and Scholarship funds to fund author awards and scholarships presented by the Society in conjunction with the Journal. $8,117 is JSR Editorial Board Meeting/Sponsorhip funds which provide an oppportunity for the JSR Editorial Board to meet during the SSSS Annual Conference to discuss SSSSs scientific journal, The Journal of Sex Research. The Board discusses past activities, issues, challendges, and future plans. The remaining $7,543 is EJSR Program funds which provide an oppotunity for persons of socially minoritized populations to participate in the SSSS Annual Conference, to receive research rewards, and improve the accessibility to scientific events. Pt VI, Line 6 All members of the organization have the right to vote for national officers. They also approve any changes to the Bylaws of the organization. Copies of the 990 were distributed to all members of the Board prior to submitting the 990 to the IRS. Pt VI, Line 19 The governing documents, including Bylaws, mission statement, and ethics, are posted on the website and available to the public. The organization does not have a conflict of interest policy. The financial statements are made available to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. We are required by our Bylaws to hold a Business Meeting every year at our Annual Meeting, where the finances of the organization are presented to those in attendance. All documents are accessible upon request.
