They also assembled 200 Comfort and Care Kits for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. They came together to clean up the local parks and did a beach clean-up in Alameda. In addition, members also participated in TAPS wide events such as the Food Bank, Walnut Creek Community Service Day, Ruth Bancroft Garden, Loved Twice, and Lindsey Wildlife Museum.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>SOPHOMORE CLASS PROJECTSSophomore class took turns leading various projects throughout this past school year. A small group made cloth bags and distributed them at the farmers market to help the environment. We did a coat drive for the Trinity Center in Walnut Creek as well as took a tour of the facility. We brought treats, did some caroling, while we visited the residents of Viamonte Retirement Community. Assembled "pet adoptions" bags for cats and dogs for the Milo Foundation and then a group spent a day helping care for the animals. We collected and sorted clothing for Contra Costa Foster Friends in Pleasant Hill. A small group of girls volunteered at a low income school, Cambridge Elementary, and helped them with homework and other activities. Last but not least we organized and coordinated Aprils Angels at Love-A-Child woman's shelter! This was a big class event and every class member attended and participated in some way. There were games, nail painting, temporary tattoos, and a Mother's Day Boutique for kids to find something for their mothers and make a card. It was really rewarding.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>FRESHMAN CLASS PROJECTSThe freshman class focused our efforts on helping children, mothers and the elderly in our community. In the beginning of the year we had a very successful childrens' book drive to support and complete the Sweet Dreams event with Hope Solutions, an organization that provides emergency support to homeless individuals in our community. Teens assembled hygiene care packages for the community homeless. Teens brainstormed new activities that would support community youth in stress-reducing activities that also teach patience, resource conservation and appreciation of nature. In cooperation with local Department of Fish and Wildlife, the teens taught children to fish at a nearby park; next year the event will likely expand to youth served by Hope Solutions. Teens made blankets for pediatric patients at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland, in support of the Trevor Eagle Blanket Foundation, in memory of a Walnut Creek high school student and longtime patient of the hospital. Finally, the freshman class also participated in TAPS-wide service projects and in sophomore, junior, and senior class-sponsored projects so that their TAPS sisters would also be assured of success as they worked for the community.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>ALL CLASS PROJECTSWe offer various projects and partnerships which are open to all four of the TAPS classes. We organized a summer swim program called "Jump-In" with a focus on water safety and introductory swim lessons for the children of Love-a-Child Mission. We also supported "Night to Shine,"an unforgettable prom night experience for teens with special needs put on through the local churches where thousands of people with special needs will be celebrated, given the royal treatment and reminded of love for them! Guests enjoyed a limo ride, walk down the red carpet, dancing, karaoke, and more! Our volunteers helped with hair/makeup, karaoke, photo booths and other activities, but especially escorting the guests to make sure they get to experience all aspects of a Prom! We also provided volunteers to help set up and organize a boutique for "The Princess Project" providing prom dresses and accessories to California teens who could not otherwise afford them. We worked with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley by building an adorable, custom playhouse for the children of Bancroft Elementary School, decorated uniquely by TAPS teens with a garden theme to provide a fun, creative space for kids. We made and donated hygiene kits for the homeless. We made and mailed Halloween, Shabbat Shalom, Valentine's Day, Spring/Easter and various other holiday cards to the elderly communities. We prepared food for distribution at food banks, helped provide care for therapy horses, put up holiday decorations and worked in the garden at skilled nursing facilities, provided respite days/babysitting for foster families, made and donated blankets to Children's Hospital. But most of all our teens learned the value of service.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
