IndigiGenius is an Indigenous-led, community focused nonprofit developing a sustainable and scalable system of creating leaders and changemakers in the fields of Computer Science. Our organizational goal of reaching population parity with CS PhD graduate rates by graduating thirty-five Indigenous CS PhD students per year. Our foundational automatic speech recognition (ASR) research aims to develop a method for the rapid creation of custom models for endangered languages. These models can be used for language learning, audio transcription, voice-controlled technology and much more. We envision a world in which Indigenous communities have full self-determination and sovereignty over their language and culture.
