Cast (coffee and sandwiches together) provides food and basic hygiene items, warm hats and socks to people living on the edge. Project warm-up crafters knit scarves and hats for low-income neighbor needs and the winter warmth drive distributes coats throughout Whatcom county. Opportunity Council provides a quarterly case management report that includes information about the dates during which the clients resided in the homes, family composition, a brief description of services provided to the families and outcomes when families exit the housing program. The Family Housing Director maintains regular communication with Opportunity Councils throughout the year. The Executive Director approves the payments to Opportunity Council, and financial reports are reviewed by the Board of Directors. Other grant funds are monitored collaboratively by the Executive Director and the Family Housing Director to ensure that funds are spent in accordance with grant guideline and restricted funds balances are reviewed at least monthly by leadership and the Board.
