In addition, our music and theater ensembles produced process-oriented works that were conceived of, and created by students and brought arts exposure to the community in the form of multiple performances and gallery showings that specifically focused on the process of creativity itself. Classes served all ages but mostly children and teens. Forty-one free or sliding scale priced spots in our regular programs were provided to local residents. 7748 0 0 Community Activities: Compass Arts produced several free performances along with semi-weekly free activities at the local farmers' markets and local festival events that integrated artists from the local area with audience participation, craft tables and science-based arts activities. Roughly 72 individual classes were provided at the Astor Place Head Start in Beacon, NY. Individual donors have the opportunity to select this fund when donating during our summer fundraising drive. Compass Arts uses this fund to offer discounts and free spots to the general public for our regular programs. Registrants fill out a simple application in order to request financial assistance when registering for a class. 41 0 5110 same as regular class prices Grants are issued in the form of discounts on regular class pricing, or completely free attendance - no cash is awarded to applicants. Discounts are issued in the form of coupon codes that allow applicants to register for free or at a discount off regular pricing. Valuation of the classes and therefore the discounts is identical to the market rates we charge the general public. Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 Compass Arts utilizes a portion of each year's individual contributions from members of our community to provide discounts or free attendance to community members for our classes. All data related to these discounts is tracked in a spreadsheet. This assistance generally takes the form of a discount in the realm of $20 to $350 or so. No single recipient is granted an amount greater than $500 and all grants are in the form of discounts rather than in cash. In addition to being executive director, Gina Samardge also served as secretary on the board of directors. Chief operating officer Andrew Reinhardt does not serve on the board. Both executive director Gina Samardge and chief operating officer Andrew Reinhardt are paid employees of the organization. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 4 Executive Director Gina Samardge and Chief Operating Officer Andrew Reinhardt rewrote the organization's bylaws under the guidance of a local lawyer and in accordance with New York State law to bring them more into alignment with Compass Arts' mission, internal structure and general approach. The new bylaws were approved and adopted by the Board of Directors on November 14, 2023.
