The purpose of this festival is to give the community access to the arts through jazz and blues music, hands-on art activities, and a variety of vendors. Over the years, the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival has brought an ever-growing number of people to Columbia Park in the heart of Shreveport, Louisiana, to appreciate the talents of local, regional and national musicians, artists, artisans/crafts persons, and culinary artists. The unique culture of the surrounding Highland neighborhood and the day of festivities itself has made the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival a favorite event of the community and beyond. The festival is free to attend for the community.
