Providing food is the top priority of the organization. Cor Jesu collects, Purchases, sorts, packages and distributes food to the needy at its facility located on South Hopkins Avenue in Titusville. In 2023, 1,674 households consisting of 3,238 individuals received food assistance. Most of the food consists of nonperishable boxed or canned items. Meats, when needed, are purchased from the local food bank. Eggs and butter are obtained locally. Perishable food is stored in refrigerators and freezers until distributed. Hygiene products are also provided when available. Volunteers pickup and collect food, others sort and stock the shelves, while others register new clients and assemble the bags that are given away. Each client receives one or more bags of non-perishable food, and most receive meats, eggs and bread. When Fresh fruits, vegetables and bakery items are available they are provided. New Clients complete an Application which asks for name, address, phone number, number of children in home and information on Client income and expenses. All new Clients are interviewed to confirm information is complete. Client must provide photo ID and Social Security cards for each person that will be receiving food. Eligibility is determined by comparing the information with current government guidelines. Copies of ID and Social Security cards are attached to the application. Food assistance is available every other month. Information is checked during future visits for any changes. Client cards are updated each visit. We are in the process of updating our records to digital format and storage. X 1200 147493 Established Rates 0 0 0 0 Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Monthly Client reports which include services are prepared by the Pantry Manager and are filed with the Bookkeeper for review and archiving. The monthly totals are added to the annual report of services. The report of the Pantry Manager includes the names of Clients, date of most recent visit, number of members in client's household. Summary reports are provided to Trustees on a quarterly basis and at the end of the year an annual report is provided. This information along with copies of financial statements and spending reports are provided to all Trustees. This information is used to prepare the 990 return and associated schedules. Once the return is complete copies are sent to all Trustees and a printed copy is kept at the pantry office. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c All conflicts disclosed are made a matter of record in the minutes of the meeting in which the disclosure was made, which shall also note the Board member with a conflict abstained from the vote and was not present for any discussion of the matter. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Copies of the tax filings are kept at the Food Pantry Office and are available upon request for viewing. Schedules that contain names and addresses of Donors (Schedule B if applicable) are not made available for public inspection. Copies of governing documents along with conflict of interest policy and other such policies are also available for viewing. In 2024 the Board approved setting up a website to share tax returns and other important information with the public.
