(the Organization) added Legacy Trust of Southern New Hampshire Health, Inc. (the Trust) as a supported organization. The Trust was legally formed in early 2020. Its EIN is 84-4779887 and it is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code, having received its IRS Determination Letter in the fall of 2020. The Organization serves as the sole-corporate member of the Trust. Additionally, on January 1, 2021, the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center entered into an agreement with Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital to purchase their outstanding membership interest in the Surgery Center of Greater Nashua (SCGN) for a total of $500,000. As of June 30, 2021, SCGN became a wholly-owned subsidiary of SNHMC. The Organization's Articles of Incorporation state that its purpose is to support the advancement of the knowledge and practice of, and education and research in medicine, surgery, nursing and all other subjects relating to the care, treatment and healing of humans, to improve the health and welfare of all persons, and to sponsor, develop and promote services and programs that address the physical and mental needs of the community at large. Moreover, the Organization was established to operate exclusively for the benefit of, perform the functions of, and carry out the purposes of Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and Foundation Medical Partners. The Trust was formed in order to carry out the fundraising functions of Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and Foundation Medical Partners in an effort to further those organization's charitable and tax-exempt purpose. Therefore, while the Trust is not specifically named in the Organization's governing documents, the Trust serves as part of a charitable class designated in the Organization's governing documents. Also, the Surgery Center of Greater Nashua exists to provide compassionate care that contributes to the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of all in its community and in conjunction with the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. Therefore, while the Surgery Center is not specifically named in the Organization's governing documents, the Surgery Center also serves as part of a charitable class designated in the Organization's governing documents.
